SOMERS, Josephine Maud – In loving memory of Josephine (nee Ulett) who passed away October 17, 2020 at the Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Residence, Scarborough in her 100th year. Beloved wife of Leonard George, Loving mother of Carol Reddick (Brad-predeceased), Harold (Susan), Michael, and Sharon (predeceased). Cherished grandmother of Christopher Somers (Shelley), Julia Lazenby (Dan), Adam Reddick (Suzette Grant), Megan Carter (Carl), Ann Somers and Great-grandmother of Ben, Mia, Joel, Niege, Gabriel, Cayleigh, Samuel, Zoey & Mya. Dear sister of Ena Lowe (Bill) predeceased, Eva Witt (Phil) predeceased, Mavis VanDyke (Ron) predeceased, Robert Ulett (Josephine) predeceased, Peter Ulett (Blossom) predeceased, Daisy Powell (Sydney), Sam Ulett (Jean) predeceased, Iris Kameka (Nester), Dorothy Hayle (Luther), Richard Ulett (Enid) predeceased, Charles Ulett (Avis) predeceased, and Sybil Richards (Eric - predeceased). Born in Cedar Grove, Westmoreland, Jamaica, W.I. on July 26 1920, she was the daughter of the late Cargill and Maud Elizabeth (Hayle) Ulett. Josephine came to Canada in 1954 with her family and she and her family settled in Sudbury until Leonard’s retirement from INCO in 1986 when they moved to Scarborough. Her family will miss her sense of humour and the many stories she shared with them about her beloved Jamaica as well as her many happy years in Canada.Due to COVID restrictions, the visitation and funeral services will be held privately by invitation only.
