Obituary of Ernesto Enriquez Chavez
It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Ernesto Enriquez Chavez on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Corazon (nee Torres) Chavez for 43 years on October 23, 2020. Loving father of Rosa Ongpin (Adrian), and Valerie Chavez. Much loved Grandpa to T.J., Mateo, Larissa, Amelie, Anton, and Lorenzo. Cherished son of Gloria Enriquez Chavez and the late Celestino Chavez. Dear brother of Valentina Rodriguez (Leon), Celestino Chavez Jr. (Cynthia), Teresita Castronuevo (Marcellino), Amado Chavez, Conrado Chavez (Maylene), and Ronnie Chavez (Jennilyn). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Ernesto led a full life. Some of the many things he enjoyed included dancing, fishing with the grandchildren, gardening and travelling the world with friends and family. Ernesto had a mini farm in the backyard where he would grow tomatoes, eggplants and many other vegetables. Harvest time was about family and friends, sharing the fruits of his labour was what Ernesto looked forward to the most. Ernesto had visited many places, the most memorable were to Iceland and Norway, where they got to experience hot springs and the aurora borealis. Another was to Machu Picchu Mountain in Peru, where he proudly made it to the top of the mountain. And in 2008, Ernesto had the opportunity to renew his wedding vows to his wife, Cora, in the Holy Land. Family and friends were very important to Ernesto, always holding gatherings for all. He was very generous with food and treats for the kids. He was also a very caring man, unconditionally looking after others and was always there when needed. Ernesto is leaving us with a legacy of kindness and generosity that will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed.
