Obituary of John L. Knebel

JUNCTION CITY — The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City for John Louis Knebel of Junction City, who died Sept. 13 of age-related causes. He was 92. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A reception will follow the funeral at the funeral home.He was born Jan. 3, 1919, in Junction City to Louis and Hazel Chandler Knebel. He married Ruth Kellogg on July 20, 1985, in Junction City. She died Jan. 7, 2004.He graduated from Junction City High School. He served in the U.S. Army, Company B, 10th armored infantry battalion, 4th armored division in Germany during World War II. He worked as a logger, log truck driver and owner and operator of a farm.Survivors include a brother, William “Bill” of Eugene.Burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City.
