Obituary of Iva Cooke

Iva Marion Cooke(1948-2020)Surrounded by loved ones October 14, Iva Marion Cooke, age 71, of Manotick, ON, passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with ALS. Cherished partner to Doug Forbes, loving mother to Tory Feyko (Jay) and Julie MacLennan (Dominic Chagnon) and proud Grandmother of Cole, Dane, Paige, Evelyne and Madeleine. The youngest of 9, Iva grew up in Scotch Corners (Carleton Place) and is survived by her siblings Freda Snedden (late Ron), Jean Dickens (late Charles), late Ron (Beula), Ken (Beverley), late Wilf (Sandra), Carl (Shirley), Joyce Jaques (Mike), Orval (Lynda). She had a fulfilling career which started in high tech where she worked at Leigh Instruments, Mitel and DY-4. After a short stint at Hershey’s, Iva retired from Canada Post as a Director in Procurement, where she was greatly respected and admired. Iva (Mom, Grandma) started every day with a spring in her step and a smile on her face, eager to live life to the fullest. She was happiest spending time with family (including at the cottage and hockey rink), golfing, travelling, gardening, baking, shopping, walking on the beach and catching up with friends. She was adored and will be missed immensely by all those she touched.Private interment to be held at Johnston’s Corners Cemetery and celebration of life to follow at a later date.
