Obituary of Eggio Iannarelli
Eggio IannarelliIt is with sadness the family announces the passing of Eggio Pietro Iannarelli, on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Humber River Hospital in his 96th year. Beloved husband for 72 years of Lidia (Antonucci). Loving father of Alfredo & Sara Young Iannarelli and William & Ann Iannarelli. Cherished Nonno of Chiara Young Iannarelli, Angela & Ricker Vandenhurk, Alison & Mickael Ferreira and Laura Iannarelli. Proud Bisnonno of Holly, Jasper and Vincenzo. He will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends in Canada, Italy and France. A man of many talents, who could build, fix or create just about anything a person could need; always willing to help or to give advice. A self-educated man who was keenly interested in astronomy, model trains, old movies and the most marvelous Nativity that he created every year for the enjoyment of others. He was happiest when making memories with his four granddaughters and well into his nineties he could be found playing on the floor with his great-grandchildren. Eggio often reminisced with pride about his youth in Popoli, Abruzzo and the early years in Canada when he and Lidia worked hard to create a home and future for their sons. His family is grateful that he lived such a long, full life and he will be held dear in our hearts.Due to Covid-19 restrictions and limited capacity, a private family visitation and service will be held at the Glendale Funeral Home on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Eggio’s memory to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
