Obituary of Argentino Di Nunzio
It is with deep regret and great sadness that we wish to inform you of the sudden passing of Argentino Di Nunzio on Friday October 9th, 2020 at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. He and his loving wife Giovanna were married for 59 years and they had two children Giuseppe (Carmella) and Maria Antonietta. He adored his two grandchildren Joanna Carmella (Dean) and Joseph Argentino and great grand-dog Donut. Argentino was born November 23, 1936 in Oratino in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian region Molise. In search of a better opportunity, Argentino left for Venezuela. In Venezuela, he met his wife, Giovanna. They married in 1961. Giuseppe was born in 1962. As a family they decided to move back to Italy in 1964. They lived in Oratino and then Seveso outside of Milan. In 1967, they moved to Canada and settled in Cooksville, Ontario. Argentino had several jobs from apple picker to drywall installer. In 1982, Argentino joined the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board as an evening custodian. He worked hard to gain his Carpenters licence so he can be a Maintenance lead and then Board Carpenter until he retired in 2002. Argentino loved being a grandfather and would often build things for them like a jungle gym in the backyard. During retirement, Argentino kept busy by building things, travelling and spending time with his family. He was a life-long learner, he attained his Secondary School Diploma at the age of 82, with the aspiration to go to University. Many have described him as one of the kindest persons you could ever meet.
