Obituary of Maria Christina Flores

Maria Christina Flores, of Toronto, Canada age 72, Peacefully passed away on Monday, October 5th 2020 in her home.Visitation will be held at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel 2900 Kingston Rd. (just east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Friday, October 9th 2020 in two groups 5:00pm to 6:30pm and 7:00pm-8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church Shrine of the Little Flower, 2559 Kingston Rd. (at Midland Ave.) on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 at 11am. Christina was born in the Philippines to Remedios and Tomas Hashim on February 12, 1948. She immigrated to Toronto Canada in 1989 and bravely started a new life with 2 young children. She lost her husband at an early age; trusting the Lord in her sorrow, she found the strength to stand strong raising her two boys with all the love and support they needed to prosper. She spent her retirement years in the service of the Lord. Her Church had a special place in her heart, she’s a child of God who not only listen to the teachings of the Lord but also walked a faithful path. She happily served her Church and would go out of her way to help others. Her heart is filled with Love, happiness and hope for everyone she meets. She had no shortage of friends – friends who also considered her a Sister. We’ll miss you dearly. She leaves behind her sons Gabriel and Benjamin Flores Jr., her daughter in law Rachel, her grandsons Peter and Benjamin Jr. III, who all will miss her deeply. Christina is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Flores Sr. and by her parents Tomas (Daddy) and Remedios (Momsie) Hashim. She leaves behind her brother Tommy and niece Wendy Hashim, her sister Maylu and nephews Peter Jr and Mark Tiongson.
