Obituary of Wayne Edward Dave

ELMIRA — The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Wayne E. Dave of Elmira, who died Sept. 16 of age-related causes. He was 86. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A reception will follow the funeral service. He was born May 20, 1925, in Portland to Joseph and Evelyn Rugh Bruzzese. He married Letha Gast on Aug. 5, 1946, in Vancouver, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a forklift operator for Globe Lumber and International Paper Company until his retirement in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne of Grangeville, Idaho; two daughters, Vickie McKenna of Eugene and Deb Brooks of Elmira; a sister, Wanda LaChapelle of Prineville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene.
