Norman MayBLACHLY — A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. today, Sept. 24, at Memorial Community Church in Triangle Lake for Norman James May of Blachly, who died Sept. 19 of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 82.He was born June 19, 1929, in Kansas City, Kan., to Gordon and Olive Aldrist May. He married Patricia Minter on June 10, 1956, in Triangle Lake.He graduated from high school and attended one year of college in Kansas. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. He worked as a educator and teacher for more than 18 years and served as superintendent for the Blachly School District for more than five years. He worked in the timber industry and farmed during the summers and drove for charter bus trips.Survivors include his wife; three daughters, DeLorri Nettles of Long Beach, Calif., DeAnna Thiessen of Blachly and Debi Bodine of Eugene; two sons, James of Santa Ana, Calif., and Tracy of Philomath; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Blachly Cemetery.
