Obituary of John Michael Vipond
We are heartbroken over the loss of our son John, (John-John, Johnny, John Boy, "my Son shine"). John died suddenly, early on September 29 at the age of 30. John was a good, decent and kind young man with a winning personality. He made friends easily and people were instantly attracted to him. I am amazed at the many close soul tied relationships he had, one of which included an upcoming role as a “Man of Honour” in a wedding party for an ex high school girlfriend who considered John to be her best friend.John and his sister Michelle were one of the greatest brother sister combos of all time. Their bond throughout the years was a joy to behold. Their trips to Cuba, kayaking adventures and their routine during our poolside bonfires with our sing along to our favorite songs will never be forgotten. John had many passions in life, his greatest passion was to have fun and laugh. From his early years with "ar ars" (cars) to Thomas The Tank Engine, The Lion King and the Brave Little Toaster to his music, his biking and his snowboarding, he went at it with all he had. John was very talented musically, as he learned to play guitar at the age of 13. A short time later, I would be in his room begging him to play one more Led Zeppelin song. He went onto learn how to play drums, keyboards and eventually play lead guitar in several rock bands that performed in the GTA. He had many plans in play for the near future. He was such a joy to his mother, sister and I. Our lives are forever changed. He will be missed so much, by so many.Further details as to the cause of his death are a few weeks away. There has been a very small service with immediate family to be followed by a trip to his beloved Blue Mountain.
