Obituary of Angela Harrington

Angela Harrington (Brooks) passed away peacefully at Oakville Hospital on September 29, 2020 in her 90th year. Pre-deceased (2011) by her husband Michael Harrington of 54 years. She will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses, David and Carol Harrington, Jayne Harrington, Liz and Mike Snell, and Mary Harrington and Blair Inglis. Loved by her grandchildren and their spouses, Kristen, Shawn and Heather, Sheena and Andrew, Christine and Spencer, Karley and Kevin, Brianne, Hailey, Jack, Ty and Leah, and the great grandchildren, Brysen, Sadie, Davie, Kalie, Hayden and Harrington. Angela’s strong independence carried her from her childhood home in England in 1958 to build a beautiful life in Canada. She was a Nurse for many years in England and after moving to Canada, she gave up her career to raise her four children and to work along-side her husband and best friend at their family owned clothing stores, HARRINGTON’s in Toronto. Angela loved animals and being in nature. Although she was very content in her own company, she also loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She maintained a sense of calm, had endless patience and a quiet amusement for the chaos and antics of her large and close family. Angela was a great listener and a kind friend to many. She supported diverse charities for many years to include OSPCA, Easter Seals, Donkey Sanctuary in England and the Cancer Society. Her quiet strength carried her through some difficult times after suffering both a stroke & losing her soul-mate in 2011 and also slowly losing her sight. Angela’s resilience and incredibly positive attitude amazed many people, including doctors, family & friends.A very special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Oakville hospital for their kindness and compassion.
