Obituary of Michael Lesiak

On Monday, September 28, 2020, Michael Lesiak, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and former teacher at Thistletown and Martingrove Collegiates passed away peacefully at home.Mike was the beloved husband of Ewa, loving father of Katherine (Mehdi), Andrea (Jeff) and Mark (Monica) and “grandan” of Everleigh and Myka. He is also survived by family in both Montreal and Edmonton.Mike enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle with his morning coffee. He was an avid reader, had a great love and knowledge of music and movie classics, and was a longtime fan of the Montreal Canadiens. In his retirement he became the family “soup” chef.In addition to teaching English, Mike also devoted time to extra-curricular student activities.He loved to share his hearty laugh, robust personality, and a little grumpiness, with everyone he met.A funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Mississauga on Saturday, October 3. Due to Covid 19 seating is limited. Private interment at Glen Oaks Cemetery will follow.For those who wish, a memorial donation in Mike’s name may be made to Covenant House or a charity of your choice.
