Obituary of Donald Aylmer Cook
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Donald on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Elden of Bradford with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Florence (nee Purdon). Loving father of Brad (Sandy), Lisa (Georgia), Jeffrey (Joanne). Cherished grandfather to Shara-Beth (Robb), Stephen (Mandy), Serena (Mike). Dear great grandfather to Dallas (15), Daklyn (7), Davina(6), Easton(4), Lexus(4), Nova(3), Bauer(2), and predeceased by Dawson(20). Donald will be lovingly remembered by his extended family.Don was a warrior and fought till the end. Don has been and is a heroDon was a long time employee of IBM but he had a love for anything mechanical and after IBM he upgraded his education to be a Mechanic. He fixed the vehicles of many friends and neighbours in the driveway. Don and His father built a shop in the backyard, allowing Don to pursue his Iove of auto repair. He eventually bought a shop in Innisfil and he and Brad pursued the dream. He loved our shop and loved hearing about the neighbourhood and watching the Town change and grow. Don's Grandson Stephen, eventually joined our shop and the three generations pursued Don's dream. We are grateful to Dad's texting friends, Peter & Regina who made Dad laugh and remembered him faithfully and his childhood friend Laurence who continued to communicate through these difficult times and showed Dad true friendship. A special Thank you to Mike Sharpe for you and the Grandchildren who continued to communicate through a difficult time. He loved seeing the Great Grandchildren on FaceTime and Zoom.In Donald’s memory the family requests a donation be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. At Donald’s wishes and Due to Covid19 and restrictions there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. He will be sadly missed, Donald Cook touched the lives of so many.
