Obituary of Margaret Rackley

Margaret RackleyThe funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Margaret Vivian “Meme” Rackley of Eugene, who died Sept. 22 of age-related causes. She was 87. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.She was born July 18, 1924, in Osage, Okla., to Herbert and Lucy Collins Rodman. She married Noble Rackley on April 5, 1941, in Shawnee, Okla. He died in September 1992.She owned a nursing home in Shawnee, Okla., from 1955 to 1963. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at the University of Oregon infirmary from 1964 to 1970.Survivors include two sons, Noble of Eugene and Freddy of Lake Oswego; a daughter, Christine Rackley-Hathaway of Eugene; three sisters, Mary James, Oma Laughlin and Darlene Chastain, all of Shawnee, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A son, Jacky Lynn Rackley, died in 1981.Burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Remembrances to the American Heart Association.
