Obituary of Maria Alice Silva

On Saturday September 19th, 2020, Maria Alice Rosa Heleno Silva, loving wife and mother of two daughters, passed away from cancer at the age of 75. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Diamantino Silva, her daughter Jennifer Pereira (Amandio), Amylee Silva (Daniel), her grandchildren, Cassandra, Michael, Daniel, Sophia, and her siblings Idalina, Arlindo, Carmen, and Antonia. Alice was born April 1st, 1945, in Colmeias, Portugal and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1968. She was an entrepreneur, avid reader of the Toronto Star for 30 years, word search solver, note taker, and amateur historian. Besides her love for the written word, Alice adored flowers and anything pink and her spirit will live on in the gardens surrounding her family home. She will be missed beyond measure.As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained. Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery. Respecting the current situation and pandemic building restrictions, a Service will be held for invited guests only.Due to COVID-19 restrictions attendance is by invitation only. A chapel service will be held on Friday, September 25th, 2020.
