Thomas DePaolisThomas A. DePaolis of Eugene died Sept. 17 of age-related causes. He was 93. A private family memorial service is planned for a later date.He was born Jan. 17, 1918, in Danbury, Conn., to Anthony and Rose Alphri DePaolis. He married Aurora Giannarelli on July 4, 1945, in Danbury; she died in 2003.He graduated from Danbury High School. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in 1958 and a master’s degree in business in 1959. He attended the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio. He was a navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. During the 1950s, he flew in nuclear-armed SAC bombers. He became a lead negotiator for the Minuteman missile contracts in Southern California.Survivors include a daughter, Diane DePaolis of Eugene; and a sister, Mary Rice of Danbury.
