Obituary of Marty Mayhew

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Marty Mayhew of La Pine, former long-time resident of Lane County, who died Sept. 24 of heart failure. He was 52. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.He was born Dec. 5, 1958, in Eugene to Richard and Margaret Baurer Mayhew. He and his wife, Penny, were married in 1984 in Brownsville.He graduated from Elmira High School. He worked as an auto mechanic for Olson’s Truck Parts in Eugene for many years before opening his own auto repair shop in La Pine.Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Daryl Rainbolt; his father and stepmother, Richard and Annalee Mayhew; his domestic partner of five years, Heidi Wallace; five sons, Douglas Mayhew, Daniel Mayhew, Casey Mayhew and Timmy Whitted, all of Eugene, and Levi Wallace-Mayhew of La Pine; two daughters, Christy Manning and Marisa Wallace-Mahew, both of La Pine; three sisters, Connie Castile of Portland, Diana Robbins of Redmond and Julie Miller of Albany; a stepsister, Angie Humphries of Fossil; and four grandchildren.A granddaughter, Chelsey Marie Manning, died Sept. 4, 2010.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens.
