Obituary of Mildred Egan

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church in Veneta for Mildred Evelyn Egan of Veneta, who died Sept. 29 of age-related causes. She was 83. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.She was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Massachusetts to James and Viola Wilcox Carroll.She graduated from high school. She worked in a retail clerks’ union in Oakland and also had worked in grocery stores.Survivors include her husband of more than 65 years, Theodore “Ted” Egan Jr.; three daughters, Sister Maureen Egan of South Portland, Maine, Alicia Adams of Lebanon and Theresa Egan of Albany; four sons, Matthew of California, Ted III of Pollock Pines, Calif., Mark of Rio Linda, Calif., and Stephen of Belmont, Calif.; four brothers, James Carroll Jr. of Rogue River, Ray Carroll of Timmonium, Md., Jerry Carroll of Visalia, Calif., and Michael Carroll of Shasta Lake, Calif.; two sisters, Arlene German of Grass Valley, Calif., and Patricia Williams of Millville, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.Burial will be at the St. Thomas Becket cemetery.
