Obituary of Robert Arthur William “Bob” Drew

Robert “Bob” DrewPeacefully in hospital on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the age of 79 years.Much loved husband of Pat (nee Adamson). Proud and loving father of Joanne Hart (Ben Venema), Laura (Peter) Robertson, Greg (Anne). Cherished and devoted Grandpa of Samantha (Chris) MacDonald, Nicholas, Liam, Olivia, Hannah, Katie, Stuart and several Grand-dogs. Great- Grandpa of Marigold.He was the son of the late Art and Edythe (nee Froome), and dear brother-in-law to the Adamson clan; George (Sandra), Pam Thornton and David (Cathy). He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews as well as extended family and friends.Bob worked in the family furniture business for more than 25 years before it was sold. He was an avid pilot and could often be found flying buddies in and out of the fishing camps. After retiring, Bob worked as a club Marshall at the Mountain Creek Golf Course and spent many hours curling at the Granite Curling Club. He was a long-time member of The Builders Lodge, No. 177, a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Ottawa, 33 degree and a Shriner of the Tunis Temple. Travelling with Pat to visit his grandkids in Germany or Oakville took up many of their weekends. Bob enjoyed playing cards and was always ready to joke, tease and laugh amongst family and friends.Bob and Pat had relocated down to Oakville in 2018 where they quickly settled into their retirement community and made many friends, all of whom appreciated Bob’s quick wit and sense of humour. A heartfelt thank you to the medical staff at the Milton District Hospital for their care and compassion.Due to the current circumstances, the visitation and funeral will be by registration only. Visitation will be held from 10 am until time of the Memorial Service, which will be held in the Chapel at 12 noon, followed by inurnment at Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Dr., Nepean on Friday September 25th. A Reception will follow at Chances 'R , 1285 Woodroffe Ave., Nepean from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
