He grew up with his maternal grandparents Joseph and Matilda McGann. Al attended Kingston Technical High School. He apprenticed with Masterton Co in Kingston Jamaica with his uncle Homer. Al migrated to Toronto Canada in 1967 where he worked as a millwright well past his retirement age. He went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday August 25, 2020.Along with his beloved wife Margaret, he leaves to mourn four children, Richard (Sharon) Denise (Chris) Mark, and his Princess Yannique Williams (O’Brien), grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was brought up in a Christian home where he learned how to become a child of God. Later in life he gave himself to preaching whenever he got the opportunity. After retirement, Al became sought after as a singer. On my last visit to Jamaica in May 2018, Al and Barry sang a duet one Sunday morning at Mandleville Bible Chapel. The family would keep in touch regularly by phone when they would remind each other of the times they shared together when they were younger.Al will be greatly missed by “his Maggie”, his mother-in-law Margaret, children, grand children and great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, cousins and friends.Cremation has taken place.A Private Celebration of Life will be held at the Bridlegrove Bible Chapel, 2575 Pharmacy Avenue, (At Finch Avenue) Scarborough, Ontario M1W 2K2, on October 3, 2020 at 10:45 am.
