Obituary of Bruce Payment

With great sadness we announce the passing of Bruce Payment age 94 years on August 21,2020. Loving husband of Violet for 71 years.Bruce will be sadly missed by his friends and compassionate caregivers. Predeceased by siblings, Alice, John and Thelma. Survived by nieces, Carol (Ron), Heather (Ian). Bruce and Violet lived in Montreal until moving to Russell, Ontario in 1987.Bruce was a Veteran of the Navy, worked at CNR and BioResearch before retiring. Bruce’s quick wit and friendly outgoing and charming personality will be dearly missed. He loved to bake, famous for those delicious tea biscuits. Bruce was an avid golfer. He had a great appreciation for Inuit Art and expressed his artistic side doing many beautiful stained glass lamps and other pieces. Special thanks to the Austin, Deegan, Keiller, Rochon and Strom families, whose dedicated love and care will forever be appreciated, and to Heather for her many thoughtful visits. Many thanks to the attentive staff at St Patrick’s Home.Friends are invited to register by calling , Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Dr., Ottawa, 613-692-1211 for visiting at 10:00am on Saturday, September 12, 2020, followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11am.
