Obituary of George T. Stribling
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for George Thomas Stribling of Eugene, who died Oct. 2 of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 89. He was born April 9, 1922, in Silvertown, London, England, to Edward and Rose Willmer Stribling. He married Ann Conner on Nov. 22, 1952, in Charlton, London. He held an associate’s degree in accounting. He was a founding member of his Royal Air Force regiment and served from 1941 to 1946 in Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Lampedusa, Sicily and Italy. He worked as an accountant. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert of Sydney, Australia; a daughter, Janet Applebee of Brownsville; and three grandchildren. A son, Anthony James Stribling, died previously.
