Obituary of Danielle Françoise Collins

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Danielle, on Sunday July 26th, at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa, at the age of 75 years. Loving mother to Jean-François and Brigitte. Adoring grandmother nicknamed 'Smoking Nana' to Zachary, Grant, Axel, Zoe, Natasha and Rory (Jean-François & Karen's children) and coined 'Grandma Chin Chin' by Jack and Camryn (Brigitte & Mark Sunohara's children). Born in Chicoutimi, Québec to Rose-Hélène (née Tremblay) and Louis-Georges Giroux. She was raised with her 12 siblings Denise (Pierre), Serge (deceased), Candide, Pierre (Johanne), Rita, Estelle, Marcel, Normand (Sen), Bruno (Sylvana), Stéphane (Sylvie), Colombe and Myriam (Roger). Her love of adventure took her to live in Montréal, Toronto, Vancouver and finally settling in Ottawa where she spent many years as Head Teller for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce at Carling and Preston. Danielle loved Jazz and enjoyed listening to live music and her many albums. She loved reading, gardening and trout fishing in Québec. She had a passion for photography, loved beautiful mountains whether our own Canadian Rockies, or the desert landscapes of Sedona, Arizona. She was a true hockey fan and loved her favourite players Lafleur and Cournoyer. Her flamboyant outfits and love for haute couture ensured she was "à la mode" no matter where she went. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as many good friends.
