Ray PrattRay Pratt of Eugene died Oct. 5 of age-related causes at age 87. No service is planned.He was born July 10, 1924, in Fort Casey, Wash., to Neil and Esther Arvidson Pratt. He married Elsie Dietrick on Oct. 9, 1948, in Dunsmuir, Calif.He served in the Army during World War II and landed with the First Infantry Division on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years, including as a claims agent from 1964 until his retirement in 1984.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Weaver of Portland; a son, Tom of Eugene; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, died in 1978.Private entombment will be at Mount Shasta Memorial Park in Mount Shasta, Calif. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
