Obituary of Frederick Warren Perkins
Perkins, Frederick WarrenWe sadly announce the passing of a wonderful Dad, Grampa, and Great-Grampa. A man who devoted his life to his family.Warren died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday August 23, 2020 after a life well lived. Born in Ottawa, Ontario on January 29, 1930, to Alfred Edward Perkins and Rita Pearl Dool, Warren was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Starting public school in Prescott, Ontario, he continued his education in Ottawa, graduating from Ottawa Technical High School in 1948. Warren is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Douglas, Donald, and Bob (Robert) and sister, Betty Moffett.Warren was married to his loving wife, Beverley (nee Foxton) (1931-2016) for 65 years. In 1958, Warren and Bev, moved to their forever home on Canter Blvd., Ottawa; which became the centre of all family gatherings and celebrations for the next 61 years. Survived by his daughters Susan Lee Williams (Keith) and Daryl Elizabeth Johnson (John), six grandchildren; Adrian Janveaux (Patrick), Jessica Anselmo (Filippo), Drew Johnson, Taylor Johnson (Laura Robinson), Tristan Johnson (Sienna Quirk), Bryce Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Josie and Avianna Anselmo, Cayden and Zane Janveaux, and Violet Johnson.Warren had a long and illustrious career of 45 years at the Canadian Bank Note, in Ottawa, Ontario as a Sideographer and in leadership roles in administration. He was an elder at Knox Presbyterian Church for 50 years, also serving on the National Committee of Presbyterian Men. During his career, Warren served as the President of the International Association of Sideographers and National President of the Canadian Advertising and Sales Association of Canada.An avid curler, he was a lifelong member of the City View Curling Club, participating in his sport up to the age of 89. In retirement, he shared his passion and expertise in the stain glass creations with the Good Companions Senior Centre, Ottawa. The family sends their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Sterling Park Retirement Residence, that helped Warren be comfortable and well cared for.Due to the current circumstances an outdoor celebration of Warren’s life will be by invitation only. Arrangements and interment details are entrusted to Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales, Ottawa, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Good Companions or Knox Presbyterian Church Out of the Cold program would be appreciated by the family.
