Obituary of Linh Ngoc Chang
As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained.Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery.Loving wife, mom, sister, (great) aunt, and friend. Linh is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jeffrey Chang, and their daughters, Carolyn and Kimberly, as well as five siblings, (great) nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Linh passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 18, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was lovingly surrounded by her husband and her children, as well as her extended family of sisters, brothers, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Born in Vietnam, Linh immigrated to Canada with her mother and her siblings in 1980.She attended Streetsville Secondary School, followed by Sheridan College. As a refugee and an immigrant herself, Linh demonstrated tremendous compassion and kindness in her role at Citizenship and Immigration Canada. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile, her enthusiasm, and her cheerfulness. Often complimented for her clothes, Linh was known for her colourful sense of style and loved to wear heels. She loved to be surrounded by babies and kids, and could often be found playing various games with her great nieces and nephews at family gatherings. She was an avid knitter who liked to knit various items, including hats, scarves, and sweaters among other things. Linh was perhaps best known for her love of food. She loved to both cook and eat. Never one to turn away food, Linh enjoyed all types of cuisine, including Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and Greek food. When she cooked, she liked to tell everyone that her secret ingredient was “love.” Her signature dish was her pasta salad.Linh will always be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her. A Buddhist service will take place on Sunday, August 23, followed by a burial service at Glen Oaks Funeral Home.
