Obituary of Nunziata Maniaci

MANIACI, Nunziata (Nancy) - Peacefully, on the morning of August 14, 2020, aged 88, after a protracted illness, our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Nonna) and mother-in-law succumbed. She is survived by her husband Franco of 64 years, their daughter Melinda (Michael Miner) and their son Giuseppe (Laura Joyce). She is also survived by her granddaughters Sasha and Eva Maniaci and step grand-daughter Zenia Turkewych-Miner. Nancy will be remembered for her easy bright-eyed smile, and her love of family, business and clothes. She passionately loved her two children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and was devoted to her two older sisters Teresina Spinella (91) (spouse, Giuseppe Spinella) and Giuseppina Vitanza-Lima (94) (spouse, Franco Vitanza-Lima) and her close friend and sister-in-law Adelina Ferrarotto (83), as well as her brother Giuseppe Ferrarotto (86). She will be remembered for her love of Canadian politics, dancing, her 10-month visit to Thailand in 2014 (where her daughter and son-in-law were posted for several years) as well as her long vigorous walks which she missed terribly after she fell and broke her hip in 2016. We will never forget her, as she gave us so much to remember. We will miss her terribly.
