Mr. Ian Farquharson7/July/1928 – 16/August/2020Retired Toronto Transit CommissionIan passed away at his nursing home on 16/August/2020 after suffering a severe stroke on Wednesday 5/August/2020.Ian was predeceased by his wife Grace (nee. Cunningham), and his brothers Cecil, Ronald and George as well as his sister Sheila. He is survived by his brother Colin.Originally from Aberdeen in Scotland, Ian decided to make his home in Canada and set sail abroad the M.V.Georgic arriving in Halifax on 11/May/1950 at the tender age of 21.Ian had a long career with the T.T.C. and was well respected amongst colleagues and friends with whom he had many laughs and adventures.Known for his humor, love of practical jokes and hawaiian shirts, he will be missed as a father to Colleen and Robert (Elizabeth) and by his grandchildren, Connor, Thomas and Sarah.Due to the current situation with Covid 19 numbers are limited to30% capacity. The family are welcoming all to the visitation as we are able to cycle the guests in and out.Please note: on the day of the funeral service there will be a guest list in place as the chapel can only accommodate 30 people at one time.
