Obituary of Cherilyn Nicole Sterling-Case
STERLING-CASE, DR. CHERILYN NICOLE (nee Sterling) D.M.D. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dr. Cherilyn Sterling-Case on Sunday, August 2, 2020, in her 50th year, with her husband of 25 years, Devon, beside her.Born in Toronto on July 12, 1970 to Cynthia and Buxton Sterling, loving and doting mother Rashayne, Devonte and Aidan. Loving Sister to Lisa (Lincoln), Adrian (Jamie), Anthony (Christin) and Helen Sterling Clarke. Adored and remembered by a large family that extends from Ontario to British Columbia, Atlanta, Florida, Jamaica, Trinidad and England, including her beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, a close knit circle of friends, and many people who loved and cherished her.She attended and graduated from George S. Henry Academy High School in Toronto, then continued her studies by earning degrees from York University (1993), Ohio State University (1995), and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (1999).For over 20 years, Dr. Sterling-Case was an accomplished dentist and with her husband’s support, grew her own family practice from one to three locations in Brampton, Stoney Creek, and Mississauga. Dentistry was her true vocation and she often spoke of dentistry as her ministry where she ministered to people through her practice; relishing the opportunity to help in her patients’ care as she served the community. She loved her staff and patients and appreciated their ongoing support over the years.Outside of her practice, she loved helping people and was involved in various community initiatives and sponsorships, especially in Brampton. She will be always remembered for her kindness, generosity, and warmth. She was happiest spending time with her family and enjoyed wondrous simplicity of God’s natural beauty such as full moons, sunrises, sunsets and lakes to name a few. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we anticipate our reunion in the sweet by and by.Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, viewing ceremony and burial are restricted to invitation only.Entombment to be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Toronto. As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, please consider future donations for the forthcoming scholarship fund for youth to be named in honour of our beloved Dr Cherilyn Sterling-Case. Final details will be available at mysmiledentistry.ca in the near future.
