Obituary of Karen Anne Millar

Karen Anne Millar (née Gottschalk)February 4, 1957 - July 24, 2020 It is with great sadness that Karen’s family announce her sudden and tragic passing on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the age of 63. She will be missed beyond words, by her daughter, Erin Kloppenburg (Tom) and her grandson Emmett, who was her pride and joy. Beloved daughter of Rose Gottschalk (nee Perchaluik) and the late Robert James Gottschalk. Karen was predeceased by her brother Bruce and leaves behind brothers, Robert (Deb), and Jeffrey (Pam), and sister Roberta (James). Karen’s nieces, nephews, and extended family will cherish her memory. Karen spent her life helping others as a developmental services worker. Over her career she worked for a variety of agencies and programs, responsible for bettering the lives of people with disabilities. Nothing gave her more joy than making a positive difference for those living with brain injuries, developmental disabilities, mental health and behavioural challenges. She was selfless, compassionate and truly cared about the job she did and the people she helped. The world has lost a true angel. To ensure everyone’s safety, a celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date. To help build Emmett’s memories of his Grandma, please share your favourite memories by leaving a message in Karen’s Guest Book on her memorial page.
