Obituary of Allan Hodge

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Allan D. “Bud” Hodge of Cathlamet, Wash., formerly of Springfield and Walterville, who died Oct. 13 of age-related causes. He was 87. A memorial service is planned for a later date.He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Washington to David and Cleda Pope Hodge. He married Norma Reese in 1945 in Vancouver, Wash. She died Dec. 21, 1997. He married Jean Hammon in 2005 in Cathlamet, Wash.He attended Benson Polytechnic School in Portland. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 701 for 67 years and worked on the construction of dams in the local area.Survivors include his wife, now of Scapoose; two daughters, Connie Cooper of Eugene and Nancy Wilson of Springfield; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the American Heart Association.
