Obituary of Audrey Wood

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Audrey Carol Wood of Springfield, who died Oct. 11 of cancer. She was 77. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.She was born Dec. 26, 1933, in Mar Vista, Calif., to Vernon and Harriett Weber Brown. She married Carleton Wood in 1967 in Westwood, Calif. He died Oct. 2, 1988.She graduated from University High School and held a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She worked as a teacher in Los Angeles. She owned the Lucky Logger in Walterville and worked as a reader and accounting assistant for the Oregon Commission for the Blind. She was a tutor for the Oasis program at Camp Creek and Thurston elementary schools.Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wood of Portland and Stacy Sorenson of Tigard; two sons, Steven of Tacoma and Woody of Springfield; two sisters, Loretta Lindholm of Oxnard, Calif., and Pamela Camille of Petaluma, Calif.; a brother, John Brown of Fairfield, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
