Mr. Wilfred Carlville ShepperdSunrise March 6, 1943Sunset July 27, 2020Wilfred Carlville Shepperd was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Shepherd and his mother, Millicent Shepherd (James). He was also the great grandson of Jacob James otherwise known as ‘Bishon.’ Wilfred Shepperd was born on March 6, 1943 in Berbice, Guyana. He was the 1st born of nine children and grew up in the village of Mahaicony. Mr Wilfred Shepperd’s surviving siblings are Maisy, Pam, Elaine, John, and Ivo. He is also survived by his family members Winston, Sandra, Aunt Avril, and many others. Mr. Shepperd arrived in Canada in 1967 and resided in the City of Toronto. Wilfred had a passion for automobiles and attended and graduated from Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology in 1970 for Mechanic Engineering. He was employed as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and retired in 2008 from Innocon Concrete. He was a proud member of the Independent United Order of Mechanics Loyal Excelsior Lodge. Mr. Wilfred Shepperd is survived by his only daughter Sherilyn Shepperd, who is also the daughter of Lorna Primo of Palm Bay, Florida. Mr. Shepperd was married to the late Pearle Forbes and had 3 stepchildren named Donna May, Donwell, and Leslie Ann. His step children had several grandchildren also loved by Mr. Shepperd. Mr. Shepperd had many dear and wonderful friends he often referred to as his adopted family. His friend Desrie, her daughter June Ann, and June Ann’s children Tyrell, Tiara, Tiana, and Tamera celebrated many milestones and holidays with Mr. Shepperd in recent years. He especially loved Tamera, whom he called his ‘baby girl’ and granddaughter.Mr. Shepperd’s dearest friends also included Garfield (Grady), Winston Denny, Festus P and the Gibbons Family with whom he shared many wonderful memories.We remember and honour Mr. Wilfred Shepperd for his love of knowledge, strong family values, lovely smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. As a Parishioner at the Royal Rouge Christian Ministries, Mr. Shepperd spent several years at the church encouraging the congregation as a senior leader. He was loved and appreciated by all members for his kindness, wisdom, and dedication to the life of the church. Under the direction of his loved Pastor, Patricia Rollox, the congregation recited the Lord’s Prayer with him in church on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Mr Wilfred Carlville Shepperd passed away peacefully the next day, on Monday, July 27, 2020.Due to the Covid19 pandemic, this funeral will be livestreamed by video.
