Obituary of Giovanni Di Caprio

Giovanni DiCaprio, 86 Passed Away Wednesday July 22,2020 at St Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, ON following an unexpected sickness.He leaves his wife of 73 years, Ester Di Caprio, Dominic his son and his daughters Angela and Anna, Giovanna his daughter in law, Nick and John his son in laws and the biggest joy of his life Giovanni, Michael, Stephania, Vincenzo and Nicoletta, his grandkids.Born and raised in Saint’Agata di Gota Benevento, Italy. The son of Dominico Di Caprio and Angela Izzo. He is the second youngest of 7 siblings.He married Ester Ferruci April 26, 1963.In his early years in Italy, Giovanni helped his family cultivate the land, he served in the Italian army, worked as a firefighter in Milano, and later as a milkman.In February 1981 we came to Canada, where Giovanni worked in constructions as a painter to provide his family around tradesman.Our dad was full of life and passionate about living. He loves the outdoors, his large beautiful lush gardens, his wine, Ferrari, soccer, and animals - especially his two Yorkshire Terriers Franco and Giggio. Dad is a joker who filled the room with joy, laughter, energy and the most amazing light burned inside of him. He loves to build things out of nothing and turned them into masterpieces. Everyone who knew him knew his personality was joyful, happy, outgoing and sharp! He quickly made people feel comfortable as if you knew him all your life. He was wise and shared his wisdom on life every opportunity he could.He was an amazing musician who loved the harmonica and his accordion - the life of any gathering or event.His infectious humor will be missed.We pray that he is in peace with God, the Angels and Saints.He is now home with his mother, father and other siblings - with his family his family and all the saints. May our loveA funeral service will be held in July 27, 2020 at Glendale......Our dad is a strong loving family man. He did everything to make kids and grandkids proud. He continuously made sure he gave us life advise any opportunity he had. He used everyday like it was the last and tried to live even if there were limitations.We are missing him dearly and will never forget the sacrifices he made up to the very end in life. All he wanted was to be outside and his family. His strong legacy and traditions will be proudly carried on in his honour. Our light of our life - our dad Giovanni.Rest In Peace and happiness.
