Obituary of Lillian Gertrude Fox
After a life of 95 years, Lillian finally left her four-wheel walker behind and was welcomed into her eternal home in heaven with Jesus. She was the last survivor of 12 children. Her parents were Herman and Jessie May Theriault (Lewis clan) of Digby County, Nova Scotia.Her siblings were, in order, Freda, Lennie, Franklin, Lovitt, Rosalind, Dorothy, Lloyd, (herself), Clarke, and triplets Evelyn, Marilyn, Gwendolyn.Predeceased by her husband (2001), Lillian had a 50 year marriage to Colonel Alexander E. Fox, WW II Veteran.Survived by her 3 children, Karen Stubbs (Christopher); Brian (Carme); and Meagan.Grandmother to Andrew Fox (Bonnie); Erin Hare (Dustin); and Jeffrey Fox (Elizabeth). Great grandmother to Myla, Toby, and Oakland.Lillian will be remembered for her love of gardening, home decorating and shopping. She also took her Christian faith seriously and loved to listen to the gospel on radio and TV. She attended The Metropolitan Bible Church for 45 years.We appreciate the care she received at the Waterford Retirement Residence in Ottawa during the challenging times of the Covid-19 global pandemic this year. Lillian was fortunate not to catch the virus but, unknown until the end, she succumbed to multi-organ cancer. Thank you to the Palliative Care team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for support during her brief days there.Due to pandemic precautions, a private family graveside interment will be held at the Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa. The family wish to defer any gift of flowers at this time.
