Obituary of Jessie Pearl Smith
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Pearl on Thursday July 16, 2020 at the age of 97 years. Pearl is now re-united with her loving husband Wilmot, dear parents Amanda Collins (nee Burnett) and David Isaac Collins and her 11 brothers and sisters. Pearl was the cherished mother of Rodney (Brenda Phee), Debbie (Nathan Antler), Robert (Helen Smith), and Diane (Alan Kirk – predeceased). She was the loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Pearl was an avid bible reader and long standing, devoted member of Grace United Church in Brampton and Caledon East United Church. She had many passions including sewing, quilting and enjoyed walking. Pearl was a tremendous sports fan who would cheer on the Toronto Maple Leafs, Raptors and Blue Jays. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Avalon Care Centre in Orangeville for the care and compassion shown to Pearl. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Pearl to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. In keeping with Pearl’s wishes, private cremation has taken place. Pearl will be laid to rest in the Streetsville Cemetery, Mississauga. Your condolences are very much appreciated during this very difficult time. Words of comfort, shared stories, photos and donations may be left for the family using the links above.
