Obituary of Irma Marchetti

With great sadness we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Irma Basile Marchetti on July 17, 2020.Irma was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Alfredo, and was proud mother of Alvaro (Francine Côté) and Anna (late Eric Landry). She was most proud of her grandchildren, Mireille (Chris), Patrick (Alaina), Sarah (Will), and Veronique (George) and was especially enamoured of her great-grandchildren, Simon, Sophie, Alfie, Enzo, Eleanor, Philippe, and Samuel. Irma lived a full life. Born in Italy on April 14, 1924, she immigrated to Canada as a young wife and mother and, along with her husband, built a happy home for her family. She was proud of her life’s work. She was a hard and talented worker and found fulfillment in baking, cooking, knitting, etc for her family. She will be remembered for her generosity, her energy, and her love.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 10:00 am at Saint-Sauveur Church in Val d’Or, Quebec.For those who wish to honour Irma’s memory, donations may be made to Villa Charities (www.villacharities.com) or to La Corporation des Cimetières de Val-d’Or.
