Obituary of Robert Zaffino
It is with great sadness we announce Rob’s sudden passing on Monday July 13th 2020 at the age of 60. He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife Karen (nee Russon) who was a source of immeasurable joy and happiness for him during the time they were together. Rob lived for his two children Michael (Naomi) and Jessica (Christian), who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind his step children Cameron, Samantha, and Shaun. Rob’s favourite role later in life was as Nonno to his 4 cherished grandsons, Oliver, Ethan, Ben, and Aidan. Rob was deeply loved by his mother Caterina (nee Candeloro), siblings Vincent, Bruno (Lori), Teresa, Frances (John), Eva (John), and large extended family of Zaffinos and Candeloros. Rob dedicated his entire working life to building and expanding A Wesley Paving and he took great pride in training his son Michael who continues his career in the business today. Rob loved to travel and could never sit still for long. He was a passionate hockey coach for both Michael and Jessica’s teams while they were growing up and loved nothing more than bonding with his kids over this. Rob will be remembered for his good humour, goofiness and charisma, endless generosity, resolute sense of fairness, and the intensity with which he approached everything. He was taken from us too soon, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Donations in Rob's memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada. A private funeral will take place on July 18th 2020 at 2:15pm.As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained.Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery.Respecting the current situation and pandemic building restrictions, a Funeral Service for Robert will be for invited guests only.At this time we ask that you kindly join our family via live stream by clicking on the following link on Saturday, July 18, 2020 starting at 2:30 p.m.https://www.distantlink.com/DLM1.htmlOnce prompted please enter the token Arbor2020 as the password.
