Obituary of Lauro Gonzalo Zuniga

Con gran tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Lauro Gonzalo Zúñiga Castillo el domingo 5 de julio de 2020, a la edad de 82 años. Nacido el 22 de diciembre de 1937 en Zaruma, Ecuador, hijo de Alberto Zúñiga y Digna Castillo. Lauro vino a Canadá a finales de los 60 para encontrar una vida mejor y trabajar duro para él y su familia. Lauro será recordado con cariño por su esposa de 30 años, Patricia Ati y sus hijos- David Zuniga-Ati, - Daniel Zuniga-Ati, - Lauro Zuniga M, - Tony Zuniga M y - Angel Zuniga S. Lauro también será recordado con cariño por sus cinco nietos, - Dexter, - Andrew, - Jessie,- Brandon, y- JonathanSus hermanos lo recordaran con cariño - Bolivia Zúñiga de Alban, - Zoila Zuniga de Aldaz, - Rosa Zuniga Naranjo, - Vicente Zúñiga Castillo, - Lola Zuniga de Fuentes, - Patricia Zúñiga de Sánchez- Eskarley Zuniga Montero- Esther Zúñiga Montero- Maricela Zuniga Montero- Manuel Zúñiga Montero- Mercedes Zúñiga MonteroLos siguientes hermanos partieron antes que el- Víctor Zúñiga Castillo- Jorge Zúñiga Castillo- Bolívar Zúñiga CastilloSu vida se caracterizó por ser un hombre trabajador y honrado. Siempre ayudando a su familia y a todo aquel que lo necesito. Su fe lo fortaleció en sus últimos años para ser el esposo y padre que recordaremos siempre con mucho cariño. Lamentablemente lucho con la enfermedad de Alzheimer en los últimos 10 años, cuando por su seguridad y bienestar fue ingresado en Villages of Sandalwood Park, Long Term Care Facility donde su esposa, sus hijos y sus hermanos más cercanos tuvimos la oportunidad de velar por el a diario. Siempre demostraba paz y serenidad para aceptar su enfermedad hasta el último suspiro. Por lo cual siempre esteramos agradecidos con Dios y al personal médico y staff de Villages of Sandalwood Park.It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lauro Gonzalo Zuniga on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the age of 82 years. Born December 22nd 1937 in Zaruma, Ecuador, to Alberto Zuniga and Digna Castillo. Lauro came to Canada in the late 60s to find a better life and work hard for himself and his family. Always helping his family and everyone else in need. His faith strengthened him in his final years to be the husband and father we will always remember with great affection. Unfortunately, he struggled with Alzheimer's disease over the last 10 years, when for his safety and well being he was admitted to Villages of Sandalwood Park, Long Term Care Facility where his wife, children and closest siblings had the opportunity to watch over him daily. He always showed peace and serenity to accept his disease until his last breath.
