Santa Arbitrio

Obituary of Santa Arbitrio

Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at Etobicoke General Hospital, on Friday, July 3, 2020. Santa is now reunited with her beloved husband, Natale. Born in Scilla, Calabria, Italy, on February 2, 1929, Santa was a happy loving woman with an infectious smile and a kind heart. Having immigrated to Canada in 1953, Santa along with her husband, provided an abundance of nurturing love, care and affection to their three children. Santa is the dearly loved mother of Rocco (Bozena), Bruno (Franca) and Maria Rosa (Domenic). She is the adored nonna of Christopher, Adrian, Alessia, Thomas, Amanda and Robert. Predeceased by her parents, Bruno and Rosa Bambara and treasured sister and brother Giacomina Barone and Giorgio Bambara. During this unprecedented situation with COVID-19, it is with very heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision to hold a private funeral with our immediate family. We have chosen to do this to minimize the threat of spreading the coronavirus and recognizing that the health and safety of our family and friends comes first. A Private Visitation will take place. However, those who are able to attend are welcome to a Funeral Mass for Santa at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 100 Bainbridge Ave. Woodbridge ON. For those unable to attend, the Mass will be live streamed through the church's website (http://www.stpeterswoodbridge.com/). A Private Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Santa's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
