Obituary of Hazel Hawkins

Hazel HawkinsA memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the First Baptist Church of Eugene for Hazel L. Hawkins of Eugene, who died Oct. 29 following a stroke. She was 88.She was born June 18, 1923, in Akron, Ohio, to George and Esperance Francisco Kifer. She married LeRoy “Bill” Hawkins on Dec. 5, 1959, in Bellflower, Calif. He died Aug. 20, 1998.She graduated from Washington High School in 1941. She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper.Survivors include two sons, Jon Miller of Eugene and Loren Miller of Warren; two daughters, Karen Hall of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Wendy Yamada of Eugene; a sister, Norma Romero-Martin of Buhl, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
