Obituary of Florence Benson

Florence BensonA celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at South Hills Assembly of God Church in Eugene for Florence Lucille Benson of Eugene, who died Oct. 30 of age-related causes. She was 94.She was born Jan. 18, 1917, in Bowbells, N.D., to John and Bessie Bullis Sloan. She married Robert Benson on July 3, 1938, in Blue River. He died June 6, 2005.She graduated from high school. She was a homemaker and worked until her retirement as a cook for Roosevelt Junior High School.Survivors include two daughters, Doris Smith of Kennewick, Wash., and Carolyn Benson of Eugene; two sons, Bruce of Oregon City and Roy of Eugene; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
