Obituary of John Koekoek

John KoekkoekA memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at Northwood Christian Church in Springfield for John Wallace Koekkoek of Eugene, who died Oct. 30 after a heart attack. He was 77.He was born March 25, 1934, in Long Beach, Calif., to John and Jane Wallace Koekkoek. He and his wife, Laura Jeanette, were married Aug. 20, 1954.He graduated from Minnesota Bible College, Pepperdine University and the University of Southern California. He worked as a pastor and teacher at Norkenzie Christian Church for 30 years.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Laurie Wright of Eugene and Julie Lipp of Springfield; two sons, Brad of Springfield and Doug of Portland; a sister, Nancy Jones of Salinas, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
