Obituary of Maria Iafrate

“IAFRATE, Maria (nee BELARDI), it’s with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Maria on Saturday June 27, 2020, at the age of 96. Born in Gubbio, Umbria, Italy on January 17, 1924. She immigrated to Canada in 1961, where she met her husband Nicola, Tullio (deceased in 2004). Maria was a loving mother to Maurizio (Mary) and Marco (Lea). Grandmother to Daniel, Nicholas, Natalie, Cristina and Ava. Maria was, by nature, a caring and compassionate woman. She loved her family and friends dearly. A true measure of a person’s legacy is how much they are loved – and she was loved dearly. With the current COVID protocols in place, flowers cannot be accepted. If you wish, a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
