On Sunday, June 21, 2020 Milgerrie “Gigie” Florento Arocena, age 57, had passed away peacefully as she slept after hearing every loved one’s voice at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. She resided in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Gigie is survived by her husband, Lamberto, and their children: Lamil and his wife Edgel, Deniel and his girlfriend Liliane, Millicent and her partner Desean, along with their two sons, Elijah and Adonis; brother and wife Larry and Paz, and their three sons, Michael, John and Matthew; sister and husband Mildred and Eddie and their daughter and two sons, Meledy, Edward and wife Amy, Edmond and his wife Ella; sister and husband Marivic and Rey and their two sons, Aaren and Ryne; grandnieces and nephew and several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. All of which she loved and touched deeply. She was born on February 24, 1963 to the late Geronimo and Matilde Florento in Nagcarlan, Laguna, Philippines. A Loving wife, mother, sister and friend, with every acquaintance was always touched by her grace. Adored and respected by many, her soul is a blessing. She was a very sociable person, who would always have a smile on her face. She was a very generous and kind person and she would consistently go out of her way without hesitation to help anyone who asked. In 2013, she started to have complications with her kidneys, which lead to needing a kidney replacement. She was undergoing dialysis every other day since then. November of 2018, she was hospitalized, and she never came home since being admitted. Every day was an obstacle to overcome for both Gigie and her family. There were times of hope for recovery, but there were also times her body would just be heavy. During this pandemic, things grew to be more difficult, visitation became limited, until there was no visitation at all. After a long battle, she passed peacefully as she slept. Please take a moment to view and share a memory of Gigie in our guestbook. As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained. Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery. Respecting the current situation and pandemic building restrictions, a Funeral Service for Milgerrie will be for invited guests only.
