Obituary of Doreen Patricia Goyette

Doreen Patricia “Pat” Goyette, age 77, passed away Thursday evening, June 11, 2020, at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 31, 1943, in St.Catharines ON, daughter of the late William and Doreen Reid. Pat moved to Bells Corners as a teenager and has been a resident of Stittsville for over 50 years.Pat is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Claude Goyette, and her children Michael (Dawn), Francine (Sean), Claudine (Mark) and Ryan (Jessica). A devoted Nanni to Cassidy, Jessica, Xavia, Danielle, Serenity, Mika, Talia, Deklan, Colton, Camden, Everleigh, Alisia, Nick and Troy. Loving Sister to Bill, Cathy & Maureen, and Aunt and Great Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.Over the years Pat cared for hundreds of children, many of whom maintained contact, a testament to her love for them. For some, she became “Nanni” to their kids. Her favourite times were being with her family watching the kids at various sports and school events. She loved to stay up late, watch Days of our Lives to stay awake and Dr. Phil to fall asleep. Never one to pass up the chance to go shopping and gift away her previous treasures. Diagnosed in Nov 2018, Pat achieved each goal she set during her illness. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses who provided invaluable care during her illness, and to the staff at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, who provided her a safe space around others in the same fight, and resources to talk and cope.A celebration of life where her friends and loved ones can pay their respects, will be held June, 2021.Quiet by nature but independently fierce. She loved deeply and purely, never self-serving.
