After living a life full of adventures with the love of his life, Siegfried Guenter Berg, went to the hallowed halls of Valhalla. Born on June 12, 1926, he spent the early days of his teens preparing as a soldier. At military school, he excelled at boxing and became a welterweight champion, moving on to became a coach and trainer. He was very proud of his quick rise through the ranks which had a profound impact on the rest of his life. He went on to become a mechanical engineer, helping design bowling pin setters, and “The Dolphin” which was one of the first Sea-doos. He developed finishing systems for Kodak, Hoover vacuums and several large car manufacturers. A born leader, he always found himself in managerial positions and brought out the best in his employees. He married his dream girl, Helga Renata, on September 22, 1951 and they spent the next 69 years of married life filled with adventure. Together they raised 2 sons, Uwe and Ingo, who added to Siegfried’s joy by increasing the family size with grandchildren Frances, Carla (Matt), Chris, Philipp, William, Jeremy (Erica), Edwin, and Caitlin. The three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Fiona, and Edie had an extra special place in his heart. In their retirement, Siegfried and Helga travelled the entire world. In the later years of his life, Siegfried tirelessly cared for Helga and made it his mission to keep his “spousy” as healthy as possible. Siegfried’s final wish was to make it to his 94th birthday and true to his nature, that is exactly what he did!
