Obituary of Helen Fairley Lowe

Helen (Ella) Lowe passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on June 10, 2020 at the Village of Erin Meadows Retirement Home in Mississauga, Ontario. Helen is survived by her husband John (Jack) Lowe whom she was married to for 64 years. Jack was the love of her life. Devoted mother to Iain (Monika) of Mississauga and Stuart of Kitchener. Dearly loved by her grandchildren Stephanie, Kevin, Cameron and Morgan. She was predeceased by her cherished son Douglas Lowe. Helen will be dearly missed by all who loved her including her extended family and friends in Scotland and England. Helen (Aunt Ella known to many) was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1933 and immigrated to Canada in 1967. She had a passion for life and the ability to spark a conversation with anyone. Always the life of the party and never holding back with her opinions, jokes and quick-wit. Never one to say no to chocolate or sweets. Proud of her Scottish heritage, never to be mistaken for anything but. Helen would never leave the house unless her outfit was completely colour-coordinated from head to toe, probably right down to her knickers. She had the biggest heart and cared deeply for her family and friends. She always made sure that those who came to visit had a full stomach and a full glass. She was the ultimate host and for that we toast you dear Ella with a wee Dram.The family would like to thank the staff of Erin Meadows Retirement Home for their compassion and care of Helen.Cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will be held in her honour at a later date. “We can no longer see you with our eyes, but we will feel you in our hearts forever”
