Obituary of Steve McNeill

On Sunday, May 31st 2020, Steve McNeill a loving father of two, passed away at age 65.Steve was born March 18th 1955 in Toronto, to William and Yvonne McNeill. A consummate handy-man, Steve spent his career building houses, landscaping and making repairs. For the last 15 years, Steve worked as an employee for Toronto Community Housing. He raised two wonderful children with Debbie Hoffman.Steve spent his life helping others and would give the shirt off his back to make sure someone else was warm. He was a dedicated father to Lindsy McNeill and Dan Hoffman, as well as a wonderful grandfather to Karley, Xander and Nina.He was an outdoors man and had a passion for fishing, a lot of his happiest memories were spent on Rice Lake. More recently, Steve was bit by the travel bug, vacationing to Cuba twice and the Dominican Republic. The next location he was planning was Costa Rica. He loved Tim Hortons coffee and couldn't go a day without ordering 14 bagels, 15 muffins and 26 Tim Bits. Steve also shared a strong connection with animals, owning multiple birds, cats, dogs and more specifically an English Bulldog named Ohno.Steve was preceded in death by his Father William McNeill and his Step-Father Valmont "Slim" Duguay. He was survived by his mother Yvonne McNeill, his daughter Lindsy McNeill, his son Dan Hoffman, his grandchildren Karley Foley, Xander McNeill-Mosher and Nina McNeill-Mosher, his sister Michele McNeill, his nieces Kristin McKnight and Melissa McKnight, his brother Rick McNeill and his nephew James Hisson.A closed funeral service will be held on Monday June 8th 2020 at Glendale Funeral Home at 1 o’clock p.m. The service will not be open to the public as it is limited to 9 guests due to COVID-19, however, please use the following link to stream the event https://www.twitch.tv/producedbydan
