Obituary of Margaret Roby Scammell

Margaret Roby Scammell (Nee Steeves)It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Scammell announce her passing at the age of 88 years on Sunday May 24, 2020.Predeceased by her husband James R.D Scammell Sr. (Jim), daughter Megan L Scammell, daughter Roby A Scammell, parents Harriette and Clarence Steeves, brother Taylor Steeves and brother Clark Steeves.Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Granny, Great Granny, Cousin, Friend, will be lovingly remembered by son James R.D Scammell Jr, Carolyn, son Ian Scammell, son in law Peter Feldmann, Grand children Linnet and Patrick Quinn, Sarah Jane Scammell-Graham, Kyle, Jarrod Scammell and Dalton Scammell, great grandchild Nora Megan Jane Graham (born March 21, 2020) and several other family and friends. Margaret was a registered nurse and worked in Fredericton N.B for Red Cross, she also worked as a Public Health Nurse while living in Cornwall, ON prior to retirement. During retirement Margaret volunteered at the Fredericton, New Brunswick S.P.C.A. where she was the official food can recycler extraordinaire. Margaret loved her cats, feeding the hummingbirds and above all, her family. She was loving, caring and had a great sense of humor. She was always smiling and cracking jokes, even in her latter years.We are eternally grateful and wish to thank the very special staff at Carleton Lodge for their supportive and caring consideration during Margaret’s stay at the long-term care facility.A celebration of life and interment will be organized at a later date in New Brunswick.Memorial donations for Margaret can be made to the Fredericton SPCA, 165 Hilton Rd. Fredericton, NB E3B 6B1
